The business and marketing process of the companies especially the consumer goods and retail market have faced a greater change, accelerating to the flourishing marketing techniques and strategies in the new normal. Over 2/3^rd of the retail business would move towards e- tail in next five years is the hot talk for the day.

Untapped by the consumer trends over product specialization and price differentiation, the new age customers also called the “neo-consumersist”, expects the traditional players in the retail market to cater their needs in the trend of consumption through E Commerce.

The rise in the online shoppers with the advent of 130 million on-line purchasers fuelled by the growth of the Internet Eco system have made the D2C Business line, flagging.

Despite the business process the company involved in, the growth of market penetration through D2C, by e-commerce is witnessing a greater rise over the past two years. The branding strategies of Sugar Cosmetics, Mamaearth, Boat, the internet driven brands have raised a bunch of customers, establishing a strong only brand buying strategy.

 

Adding to the effort in understanding the D2C marketing techniques, the strategies can be settled as Conventional and Non-Conventional.

IN CUSTODY ... ANITHA DESAI..

                              

I remember reading THE VILLAGE BY THE SEA when I was ten !

Ten years since then landed up now in IN CUSTODY !

Written in 1984, the book is about a small town teacher ,Deven Sharma who teaches Hindi at school but his love remains for Urdu ,the language and its poetry.His childhood friend Murad, who is a publisher of an Urdu magazine in Delhi comes looking for him,to the town of Mirpore.Murad wants Deven to interview Nur Shahjehanabadi, a famous poet in his times and a favourite of Devan's for his magazine.Deven who feels Urdu poetry is a means of escape from his unsatisfactory life, in which he expresses his frustration by barking at his wife, takes the opportunity. Nur,who is now improvised, couped into two wifes who are dominating, and Nur himself who had lost his poetic touch, and prefers to squander away his money, is no longer the idol he was.He spends his time chatting with his so-called fans, and brings in no money. 

Devan tries to have a talk with Nur about the interview. He does manage to do so,by getting his college to put up money for tape recorder.The tape recorder is a second hand version, which he must record within the few days that he manages to get the poet, away from home. A series of goof ups and mistakes following this, turning it into a hilarious  rigmarole.

In Custody , has poetry and melancholic touch of loneliness and sadness. Blending all these with a touch of humour is Desai's effective touch to the novel.

Until the publication of ' IN CUSTODY' one might have said that the subject of Anitha Desai's novel was solitude. Her memorable characters in some of her early works like Cry ,the peacock, were unique isolated figures. The book is thus a remarkable piece of work as Desai chooses to write not just of solitude but of friendship,the pros and perils of friendship !

பிளாஸ்டிக் டப்பியில் பராசக்தி ( The  plastic god box ) சிறுகதையில் தான் அம்பை அறிமுகமானார். கதை  முழுதும் பெண்மை நெடி .....

இச்சிறுகதை தான் " வீட்டின் மூலையில் ஒரு  சமையலறை ", " வற்றும் ஏரியில் மீன்கள் ", "சிறகுகள் முறியும் ", "கறுப்புக் குதிரைச் சதுக்கம்  "கதைகளை தேடிச்சென்று வாசிக்க வைத்தது ." The  face behind the mask of women in Tamil Literature and society and women writers " என்னும் ஆராய்ச்சி நூல் இறுதிக்கட்ட வாசிப்பில் உள்ளது .

" சிறகுகள்  முறியும் " கதையில்  தன் வாழ்வை விதி என ஏற்று வெறுமையில் வாழ்ந்து பழகும் சாயாவையும், " கருப்புக்  குதிரைச்  சதுக்கம்  " கதையில் தனக்கு நேர்ந்ததை எதிர்த்து ' நின்று ' போராடும் ரோஸாவையும் அன்றைய பத்திரிகை உலகம் ஏற்கவில்லை !' 

வணிகத்திற்கும்  இலக்கியத்திற்கும் பாலம் அமைத்து மிடுக்காய் பயணம் செய்யும் மற்ற எழுத்தாளர்கள் போல அம்பை இல்லை ' என்று விமர்சிக்கப்பட்டார் .

அம்பையின் ஆங்கில  கட்டுரைகள் சில தமிழில் வெளிவந்துள்ளது அதை வாசிக்கிறேன் என்று வாசிப்பு தோழமை கூற , மொழிபெயர்ப்பாளர் யாரெனக்கேட்ட போது  திருமதி.அருள்மொழி நங்கை என்ற பதில் !

 அவர் யாரெனத் தேடிய போதுதான் அம்பை அவர்களை அயராது விமர்சித்து வரும் எழுத்தாளர் ஜெயமோகன் அவர்களின் மனைவி என்று அறிந்தோம் ...

சினிமா பார்க்கும் திருப்தியிலும் பண்டிகை கொண்டாடும் பக்தியிலும் வாழ்வினை ஒடுக்கும் பெண்களு ம் ,

சிலி நாடு அகதியும் திருநெல்வேலியின் நிர்க் கதியும் ,

பாத்திரத்தின் அடியில் இருக்கும் சாதத்தை கரண்டியின் சுரண்டல் ஒலி இல்லாமல் எடுக்கும் அம்மாவும் ,

யுகம் யுகமாய் சிகரெட்டுக்கு கடன்கொடுக்கும் டீக்கடை நாயர் வரை அனைத்தும் சோடை போகாத கதாபாத்திரங்கள். 

அம்பையின் எழுத்தை வாசித்த பலர் அவரின் சொற்கள் ஒவொன்றும் தங்களின் முகத்தில் அறைந்தது போல் உள்ளது எனக்கூறக் கேட்டிருக்கிறேன் .ஒருவேளை  ஆணாய்   பிறந்திருதால் அம்பையின்  எழுத்தை  இன்னும் அனுபவித்திருக்கலாமோ என்றே தோன்றியது .....

தன் எழுத்தை தானே விமர்சனம் செய்யும் ஒரே எழுத்தாளர் ,

வரலாறு படித்த பெண்ணிய  எழுத்தாளர், பத்திரிகையாளர் , SPARROW  அமைப்பின் இயக்குனர் , இயல்  விருத்தாளர்... 

  [  அட  இது விக்கிபீடியா  அல்ல !!!  ] 

வாசிப்பு அனுபவம் :    

மழையைக் கண்டு அதனூடே  பயணித்து ஞாபகங்களின் நீட்சியில் மழை நின்றது கூட தெரியாமல் யாரோ வந்து தட்டி எழுப்பி மழ நின்ருச்சு ( கதை முடிந்ததது ) என்று கூறும்  அதே அனுபவம்  ....

வாசித்தால்  புரியும் !!

அதற்ககான தேவை என்ன? சவால்கள் என்ன ?

 வங்கியச்  சேகரனின்  ஆலவாய்  மதுரைக்கு    (   மதுரையை ஆண்ட பாண்டியன்  வங்கியச் சேகரன் அந்நகரின் எல்லையை வகுக்க சிவபெருமானிடம் வேண்டியதாகவும் அப்பெருமான் தன் கரத்தில் உள்ள பாம்பினை விடுக்க அப்பாம்பு தன்  நெடிய உடலை  மதுரையை வலமாகச்  சுற்றி தன் வாயால்  வாலைப் பிடித்ததென்றும் அப்பகுதியே மதுரையின் எல்லையானது  எனவும் அதனால் ஆலவாய் என்னும் பெயர் தோன்றியது என்று  திருவிளையாடல் புராணம் பாடுகிறது ) 

நாகமலை,  பசுமலை,  திருப்பாலை,  அழகர்மலை,  வாடிப்பட்டி,  குயில்குடி ஆகிய  இடங்கள்  மதுரைக்குரிய  எல்லைகளாக  நாட்டார் பாடல்  ஒன்று பாடுகிறது.

சரி!  ஆலவாய்  மதுரை  தலைநகர்  மதுரையாக   தேவை  என்ன ?

                                                  1]    மதுரை   மாநகரின்  நீர்த்தேவைகளைப்  பூர்த்தி  செய்ய  வைகைநீரும்  காவிரி நீரும்  போதாது  முல்லைப்பெரியாறு அணையிலிருந்து  பண்ணைப்பட்டி   வரை  [ சுமார் 1200 கோடி செலவில்  ] பைப்லைன்  வாயிலாக  நீர்  கொண்டுவரும்  திட்டம்   செயல்பாட்டில்  உள்ளது. மாநகர்  விரிவடையும்போது  சேர்ந்தே   உயரும்  நீர்த்தேவைகளைப்  பூர்த்திசெய்ய  முன்னேற்பாடுகள்  வேண்டும். 

                                                  2]    சென்னை  மற்றும்  மதுரையில்  இயங்கும்  மெட்ரோ ரயில்   சேவைகள்  ஏனோ  மதுரைக்கு  இன்றுவரை கிடைக்கவில்லை.

                                                          சென்னை  உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தின்  மதுரை  கிளை 2004 ஆம்  ஆண்டு  முதல்  செயல்பாட்டில்  உள்ளது.  கோரிக்கை  விடுத்து             28 ஆண்டுகள்  கடந்த   பின்னரே  உயர்நீதிமன்ற  மதுரைக்கிளை உருவானது. தேர்தல் வர   8 மாத  காலமே  மிஞ்சியுள்ள  இந்தகாலகட்டத்தில்  இம்மாபெரும் பணி சாத்தியமா ? என்ற கேள்வி தோன்றுவது  இயல்புதானே...

இவை  ஒருபுறம்  இருக்க 2012- ல்  மறைந்த  முதல்வர்  ஜெயலலிதா  அவர்கள் "விஷன் ஸ்டேட்மெண்ட் 2023 " என்ற  திட்ட  ஆவணம்  ஒன்றை  வெளியிட்டார். அதில்  சார்வதேசத்  தரத்துடன்   தமிழகத்தில்  10 நகரங்களை   உருவாக்க கையொப்பமிடப்பட்டது. 10 ஆண்டுகளில்  10 நகரங்கள்  அதுவும்  சார்வதேச தரத்துடன்  உருவாக்க   முடியும்  என  "

விஷன் ஸ்டேட்மண்ட் 2023 " கூறும் போது  ஸ்மார்ட்சிட்டியாக மாறிவரும் மதுரையைத் தலைநகராகுதல் சாத்தியமே!

 கையில் ஒரு சுருக்குப்பையோடும் பரபரத்தக் கண்களோடும் தான் செல்லவிருக்கும் ஊர்ப் பெயரினைச் சொல்லி " இந்த பஸ் வந்தா சொல்லு கண்ணு" என்று கூறிக் கடந்து போகும் ஒவ்வொரு பேருந்தும் தான் செல்ல வேண்டியதுதானோ என்ற ஐயத்தில் நாம் வாசித்துச் சொல்லமாட்டோமா என்ற ஏக்கத்தில் நம்மையே பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும் கண்களைப் பல நேரங்களில் நாம்  கடந்திருப்போம்…

 போகட்டும் கதைக்குள் நுழைவோம் !

            1960-களில் கன்னட மொழியில் வெளிவந்த 'கர்ம வீரா' என்னும் வாரப் பத்திரிக்கையில் ' காசி யாத்திரை'. என்னும் தொடர் கதை மிகவும் பிரபலம். ஒவ்வொரு புதனும் இந்த 12 வயதுப் பேத்தி வாசிப்பறியா தன் 62 வயது பாட்டிக்குக் காசி யாத்திரையைப் படித்துக் காட்டுவார். கற்பனையின் கருணையால் ஒவ்வொரு புதனும் இவ்விருவரும் காசிக்குச் சென்று வந்தனர். ஒரு நாள் பக்கத்து ஊரில் நடந்தத் திருமணத்திற்கு அவர் பேத்தி சென்றுவிட வாசித்துக் காட்ட ஆள் இல்லாமல் போக அந்தக் கற்பனை யாத்திரை தடைப்பட்டுப் போனது.

யாரிடமாவது கேட்கலாமா? என்றக் கேள்வி ஒருபுறம், தன்னை ஏளனம் செய்து விடுவாரோ என்ற தயக்கம் ஒருபுறம், இவற்றின் நடுவே கெட்டியான முடிவோடு நாமே வாசித்துப் பார்ப்போம்" என்று எழுத்துகளினூடேத் தன் விரல்கள் மெல்லப் படர , நேரம் கடந்தும் அடுத்த எழுத்திற்குக்கூட நகராதத் அவரின் விரல்கள் இப்போது தன் கன்னத்தில் உருண்டோடும் கண்ணீரைத் துடைக்க ஆயத்தமாகின.

சற்றே நேரத்தில் துவண்டு போன அந்த முகத்தில் இப்போது ஓர் தெளிவு. உடனடியாக ஆனால் சற்றே தீர்க்கமான முடிவு தோன்றியது. " அடுத்தத் தசரா பண்டிகைக்குள் தான் எழுத்து கற்க வேண்டும் என்று ! " ஊர் திரும்பிய பேத்தியிடம் தன் முடிவைக் கூற அவரும் அதற்கு ஒப்புக்கொள்ள எழுத்தில் ஆரம்பித்தப் பாடம் வார்த்தையாகவும் பின் வாக்கியமாகவும் விரைந்து ஓட , தசராவும் வந்துவிட்டது ...

 

பண்டிகையின் ஒரு பகுதியாகக் கற்பித்த ஆசானுக்கு வணக்கம் செய்யும் முறை அங்கிருந்தது. அன்று காலை தன்னைப் பார்க்க வந்தப் பேத்தியை பூஜையறையில் நிறுத்தி, சற்றும் தயக்கமில்லாமல் அந்தப் பன்னிரண்டு வயது ஆசானின் கால்களை 62 வயது மாணவி தொட்டு வணங்கினார். இந்த அதிர்ச்சியிலிருந்து மீளாத பேத்தி தான் வாங்கி வந்த புத்தகத்தைத் தன் பாட்டிக்குப் பரிசளிக்க அவர் மெல்ல அந்த நூலின் தலைப்பில் விரல் வைத்து " கா -சி- யா - த் -தி - ரை " என்று திடமான குரலில் அவர் வாசிக்க, தான் எதிர்பாராதது நடந்தேறியது என்று எண்ணிப் பேத்தியின் கண்களிலும், தான் இத்தனை வருடங்கள் எதிர்பார்த்தது நடந்தேறியது என்ற மகிழ்வில் பாட்டியின் கண்களும் ஒருசேரக் கலங்கின.

 (இப்போது நாம் முதலில் கண்ட சுருக்குப்பை பாட்டியில் ஏக்கம் புரிகிறதா?)

 இந்தக் கதையை நீங்கள் எங்காவது கடந்து வந்திருக்கலாம் . கதை என்றா சொன்னேன் ? இல்லை இல்லை ! திருத்தம் : இது உண்மைச் சம்பவம் .

                                   அந்தப் பன்னிரண்டு வயது ஆசான் தான் இன்றைக்கு இன்போசிஸ் குழுமத்தின் தலைவர் பத்மஸ்ரீ .திருமதி சுதா மூர்த்தி அவர்கள்.

இந்தியாவின் முதல் பெண் மருத்துவர்களில் ஒருவர் என்றதும் முத்துலட்சுமி ரெட்டி அவர்களின் நினைவு வருவது போல் இந்தியாவின் முதல் பெண் பொறியாளர் என்றதும் திருமதி சுதா மூர்த்தி அவர்களின் பெயரை பலரும் அறிந்திருக்க வாய்ப்பில்லை. எளிமையானக் குடும்பத்தில் கர்நாடகாவில் பிறந்து தன் முதுகலை பொறியியல் பட்டத்தை IIT பெங்களூருவில் பல கட்டுப்பாடுகளினூடே, 599 ஆண்களுக்கு மத்தியில் ஒரே பெண்ணாக தங்கப்பதக்கதோடு பெற்ற இவருக்கு அன்றைய நிலையில் வேலை இல்லை!!

வேலை இல்லையே என்று வருந்தாமல் உடனடியாக டாட்டா குழுமத்தின் தலைவருக்கு , ஆண்களுக்கு மட்டுமாபொறியியல் ? என்ற கேள்வியை விடுத்து இத்துறைக்குப் பெண்களின் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்தும் கடிதம் எழுதினார். உடனடியாக நேர்காணலுக்கு அழைப்பு . பணியமர்த்தப்பட்ட முதல் பெண் பொறியாளர் என்ற பட்டத்திற்குச் சொந்தக்காரர் திருமதி சுதா மூர்த்தி அவர்கள் . பின்னர் திரு . நாராயணமூர்த்தியோடு திருமணம். 1981இல் தொடங்கப்பட்டது இன்போசிஸ் நிறுவனம். கணவரோடு இணைந்து 1996இல் தொடங்கியது இன்போசிஸ் அறக்கட்டளை.

 பொதுவாகக் காசியோ ராமேஸ்வரமோ சென்றால் ஏதேனும் ஓர் பழக்கத்தை விட்டுவர வேண்டும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை உண்டல்லவா ?

 ( இதைத் தவறாக புரிந்து கொண்ட நம் மக்கள் பழைய ஆடைகளை நீரில் விட்டு வருவது போல் இல்லாமல்… )

 ஆடம்பர நோக்கிலும் அவசியம் இல்லாமலும் தனக்காக பொருட்களை வாங்கும் பழக்கத்தைக் கைவிட்டார் காசியில் ! அன்றிலிருந்து 22 வருடங்கள் 2480 " கோடிக்குச் சொந்தக்காரர் தனக்கென ஒரு சேலை வாங்கி 22 வருடங்கள் ஆகிறது என்று கூறியவுடன் மறுமுறை இந்த வாக்கியத்தை வாசிக்க ஏதோ தூண்டுகிறதல்லவா?

 

 தான் படித்த காலங்களில் பெண்களுக்ககெனத் தனி கழிவறை இல்லாததை நினைவில் கொண்டு, இன்றைக்கு இந்தியா முழுவதும் 16 ஆயிரம் கழிவறைகள் இவரது  அறக்கட்டளை வாயிலாகக் கட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது.

கர்நாடகத்தில் உள்ள அனைத்துப் பள்ளிகளிலும் நூலகம் மற்றும் கணினி வசதிகள் ஏற்படுத்தக் காரணியாக இருந்தவர்.

 மேடம் என்கிற மரியாதை மொழி மாறி அம்மா என்கிற அன்பு மொழி சொல்லி அழைக்க அடித்தளமிட்டது இவரது சேவை கரங்கள்.

 2001-ல் தொடங்கிய இவரது எழுத்துப் பயணம் ஆறு நாவல்கள் ,2 பயணக் கட்டுரைகள், தொழில்நுட்பம் சார்ந்த புத்தகங்கள் எனக் கன்னட மொழியிலும் ஆங்கிலத்திலும் இவர் எழுதிய புத்தகங்கள் ஏராளம்

மராத்தியிலும்,ஹிந்தியிலும் இவரின் மொழிபெயர்க்கப்பட்ட நூல்கள் வெளிவருவது போலத் தமிழில் வெளிவராதது வருத்தமே.... பத்மஸ்ரீ விருதாளர் , 2018-ல் வாழ்நாள் சாதனையாளர் விருதும் கிடைத்தது. இன்றோடு 70 வயதாம் ! ( பிளாட்டினம் ஜூபிலி) "வன் - பொன்விழா" என்று நாம் வைத்துக்கொள்வோம்! தன் இருபதுகளில் தொடங்கிய இவரது சமூக நாட்டம், எளிமையாக, எதிர்பார்ப்பின்றி எழுபதுகளிலும் சிறப்புற நடத்திச் செல்கிறார்.

இவர் எழுத்துகள் எனக்கு அறிமுகமானது என் பத்தாவது வயதில்! எழுத்துகளில் கூட ஆடம்பரம் இல்லை! எளிமையாக வாழ்ந்த தலைவர்" என்றுக் கதைகளில் கேட்ட நம்மக்குக் கண்முன்னேத் தோன்றும் அடடம்பரமில்லா அழகு தேவதை சுதாம்மா !
